The SHQ Library has a large collection of resources suitable for professionals, students and the general public. Resources include books, journals and DVDs covering all areas of sexual and reproductive health.

Access to the online catalogue is currently under improvement. If you are not able to access the catalogue online please email us with you query.

Educational games, contraceptive kits, condom demonstrators and Magno-mate Reproductive Kits (a magnetic display of male and female reproductive processes) are also available for hire.

Members are welcome to borrow the following:

2 DVDs/videos for 1 week

Items can be posted to those in rural areas, and extended loan periods can be arranged. If you would like information on a particular topic, please email us with your query.

Opening Hours

Appointments only Monday – Thursday. Please email the library for an appointment. Returning items can be left with reception if the library is closed.

Library Contribution

There is no charge to access information but you will need to join the library if you want to borrow items. To join the library it costs $5 per annum. Organisations, such as schools, can join the library for $15 per annum and are entitled to hold three library cards.

SHQ offers a range of professional services including testing and treatment of STIs, contraception information and supply, unplanned pregnancy, Pap smears, STI drop-in clinics and counselling.
