National Close the Gap Day
Today is National Close the Gap Day (NCTGD), a day to pledge support for achieving Indigenous health equality by 2030.
To acknowledge NCTGD, SHQ staff are excited to be involved in a great community event, hosted by the Aboriginal Health Council of WA (AHCWA) and the City of Vincent. The event will take place on Saturday 24th March from 11am-5pm, at the Birdwood Square, Highgate. There will be a host of activities on offer including; Live entertainment, food vans, kids activities, giveaways, health information and specialty stalls. Come and find us for the latest sexual health information, as well as competitions, giveaways and free condoms!
Did you know that 160,000 people took part in NCTGD events across the country last year? Get involved in the 2018 campaign and show your support by attending one (or many!) of the events happening near you. Calling people who work with young people!
Are you involved in work that relates to young people (aged 12 – 20) and touches on sex, dating, relationships or pornography? If so, Our Watch wants to hear from you!
Our Watch is developing tools and resources to support those who work with and for young people to promote positive, equal and respectful relationships. This survey is designed to inform the development of these tools and resources.
The survey should take approximately 15 minutes to complete, and you will have the opportunity to go in the draw to win one of three $100 Coles Myer vouchers. Surveys close on March 19th.
Harmony Week is an opportunity for all Western Australians to celebrate our vibrant multicultural State.
The week runs from 15–21 March every year and encourages everyone to experience, explore and appreciate WA’s wealth of cultural, religious, linguistic and ethnic diversity.
Head over to https://www.omi.wa.gov.au/EventsInitiatives/Pages/HarmonyWeek.aspx for ways to get involved
