Sexual Health Quarters has an exciting new look

In 2022, Sexual Health Quarters celebrated our 50th anniversary and embarked upon a journey to develop a new visual identity for our organisation.

Extreme barriers to contraception and reproductive healthcare for women led our founders to create the Family Planning Association of Western Australia in 1972. Over 50 years later, Sexual Health Quarters is a radically modern organisation that has evolved and diversified in response to community need.

As the largest non-government provider of specialised sexual and reproductive health in Western Australia, we are hoping that this brand refresh will help us connect better with those in the community in need of our services, especially those experiencing barriers to sexual and reproductive health.

Sexual Health Quarters’ exciting new visual identity was created in partnership with local design agency Two from Two, in collaboration with stakeholders, consumers, staff, and our board to ensure our materials are accessible and friendly.

“Sexual health shouldn’t be scary, but taboos and stigma continue to create unnecessary barriers to sexual health and relationship wellbeing. Our goal was to reflect our organisation’s ability to create a safe, friendly, welcoming environment, while delivering high quality services and support to the community.”

Debra Barnes, Chief Executive Officer

The rebrand includes a fresh new logo, colour palette, typeface, icons, and illustrations.

You may notice that our new logo uses our full name, Sexual Health Quarters. As a leading provider of sexual health and relationship wellbeing services, we believe it is our responsibility to break down barriers to access. By being bold and clear about who we are and what we do, we can help reduce stigma and hopefully reach more people in need of our services.

We also have a new SHQ monogram that will be used for materials and events that require discretion.

We are committed to continuing our growth and utility, and we wanted to create a new visual identity that communicates Sexual Health Quarters’ modern approach to providing sexual and reproductive healthcare for all.

Our look may have changed, but our clinical, counselling, and education services will continue to be high quality, non-judgemental, affordable, accessible, and welcoming to everyone.

Some of the designs are now visible at our Northbridge location, with a full repaint and refurbishment of our clinic scheduled for mid-2024 that will greatly improve privacy, accessibility, and client experience.
