This education offering is available to Doctors, Nurses, Midwives and Aboriginal Health Practitioners and provides an overview of the current best practice in the provision of contraception in primary care.
It consists of two parts: an online module (approximately 2 hours) to complete prior to attending a 2 hour webinar. This education will enable participants to provide contraceptive choice information to their patients, and to be able to discuss the main contraindications to the different methods available.
Learning outcomes
- Identify the main contraindications to contraceptive options
- Discuss the pros and cons of the contraceptive choices available to Australian patients.
This education is a prerequisite for Nurses, Midwives and Aboriginal Health Practitioners planning to undertake further training in contraceptive implants with SHQ.
