Intro to Healthcare for Trans and Gender Diverse People

This face‑to‑face educational workshop is designed for doctors and nurses who wish to develop their knowledge and communication skills in providing inclusive, respectful, and evidence‑informed healthcare for transgender, non‑binary, and gender‑diverse people.

The activity provides structured education, guided discussion, and scenario‑based learning to explore common health disparities, barriers to care, and best‑practice principles relevant to primary care. Topics include the use of inclusive language and pronouns; approaches to creating welcoming and culturally safe clinical environments; the principles of trauma‑informed and gender‑affirming healthcare; an overview of ongoing gender‑affirming hormone therapy within general practice; and preventative health considerations for transgender and gender‑diverse patients.
