SHQ is committed to engaging with young people in community settings and supporting the services that work with them. SHQ is keen to work with community organisations and can offer a range of services that aim to achieve sexual health and wellbeing for all young people. Below are some of the ways we can support and work with organisations.
Interactive education sessions for young people
SHQ can facilitate interactive sexual health and relationships education sessions for a range of organisations and their clients. SHQ educators have experience working with a diverse range of young people and tailor all sessions to meet the needs of the group.
Our educators can deliver single sessions or whole programs on a range of topics including, but not limited to:
- Respectful relationships
- Consent
- Bodies, sexual & reproductive systems
- Gender expectations & relationships
- Sex, pleasure & rights
- LGBTI+ and being an ally
- Contraception
- STI & BBV prevention
- Puberty
- Pregnancy choices
- Pornography
- Sexting and sexuality in online spaces
The number of sessions and length of each session depends on the needs of the group. SHQ works closely with organisations to understand the needs of their clients and ensures these are met in accordance with best practice.
Community youth events
SHQ may be able to host a stall at community events. Our stalls include interactive activities and provide relevant information and resources to the target audience of the event.
If we are unable to attend, we may be able to send out resources for you to display or use.
Please visit our Event Requests page for more information.
