Registered Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist or Social Worker

The successful applicant will join a welcoming and committed counselling service primarily located in Northbridge. You will work alongside clinical psychology, psychology and counselling staff to provide short to medium term evidence based therapies related to sexual and reproductive health; unintended pregnancy and relationship wellbeing.
You will have access to in-house clinical supervision to support professional and ethical practice and are well supported by clinic administration and reception staff. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary SHQ clinic team and contribute to training, audit and service development with opportunities to participate in specialist research projects.
- High degree of knowledge related to reflective practice, professional guidelines and ethical frameworks.
- Autonomy, enthusiasm, strong communication and clinical skills.
- Experience using a range of assessment approaches and able to formulate and treatment plan considering biopsychosocial factors, theoretical and therapeutic models and structural, historical and developmental processes relevant to the individual, family or group.
- Experience delivering interventions for clients presenting with a range of complex issues relating to sexual health and relationship wellbeing, using appropriate conceptual frameworks and evidence-base.
- Knowledge of other relevant services, community resources and experience with connecting clients with appropriate community resources, specialists and services.
- To provide assessment and triage with SHQ Counselling clients based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of data from a variety of sources including semi-structured interviews, self-report measures and psychometric measures.
- To maintain an independent caseload of 4-6 clients per day and appropriate professional clinical records and correspondence including assessment letters, on-referrals, communication related to risk, discharge and summary reports.
- To undertake risk identification and management with clients and to provide clear communication with referrers and primary care in management of client risk to self and others.
- To deliver evidence-based therapies for a wide range of sexual, reproductive and women’s health issues including sexual dysfunction, relationship counselling, sexual wellbeing, sexuality, sexual assault, STI diagnoses/anxiety; sexuality and gender diversity.
- To provide client-centred non-directive, pregnancy options counselling for clients with unintended pregnancy and support for clients presenting for post-termination support.
- To participate in team meetings and multidisciplinary clinician meetings, engage in service development including development of client resources, development and delivery of training and audit.
- Engagement in regular clinical supervision and CPD
- Registered Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist or Social Worker
- Eligible for a Medicare provider number.
- Working with Children Check.
- National Police Clearance (6 months from date of issue)
- Certificate of immunisation and/or evidence of immunity for Hepatitis B, Influenza, Pertussis, Measles umps and Rubella, Varicella).
- Current unrestricted Australian drivers’ licence and ability to work across sites in the Metropolitan area.
